Haiti

Latin America and the Caribbean

Haiti is currently in the process of working on its TNA. it has prioritised its key sectors and technologies, and work is now underway to finalize the Barrier Analysis and Enabling Framework.

Haiti is a Caribbean country situated on the island of Hispaniola, which it shares with the Dominican Republic. Agriculture provides a livelihood for nearly 70% of Haitians, mainly through small-scale subsistence farming. Widespread poverty and ecological degradation make Haiti particularly susceptible to climate change impacts. Vulnerability to climate change was further increased in January 2010, when an earthquake destroyed much of Haiti’s capital city, Port-au-Prince.
